LESSON 155Changing “ila” Sentences into “kun” Sentences
Replace ila with kun and make the necessary changes. The original sentences describe possible conditions; after changing them to kun, they describe unreal or contrary-to-fact situations.
Sentence 1
ila safrt, ġadi n-gls f loṭil. — If I travel, I will stay in a hotel.
Sentence 2
ila mšiti l Marrakech, zur jam3 l-fna. — If you go to Marrakech, visit Jemaa el-Fna.
Sentence 3
ila nsiti, ġan-fkkrk. — If you forget, I will remind you.
Sentence 4
ila kant š-šms nhar l-нdd j-jay, ġan-mšiu l l-bнr. — If it is sunny next Sunday, we will go to the sea.
Sentence 5
ila t3lmti l-3rbiya mzyan, ġadi t-kun talib najн. — If you learn Arabic well, you will be a successful learner.
Sentence 6
ila ma-нtarmti-š qanun s-sayr, ġadi t-jibha f rask. — If you do not respect the traffic rules, you will cause problems for yourself.
