LESSON 167Pronoun-Replacement Exercise
Replace the underlined noun with the correct pronoun. Sometimes you will need an object pronoun; sometimes a preposition followed by a pronoun.
Example
l-qṭ kla l-нut. — The cat ate the fish.
Replace l-нut with “it”: l-qṭ klah. — The cat ate it.
Sentences
- Tony šrb l-нlib. (Tony drank the milk.)
- Ahmed šra ṭumubil. (Ahmed bought a car.)
- t-tlamd mšau l s-suq. (The students went to the market.)
- Laṭifa ddat d-drari l l-mdrasa. (Latifa took the children to school.)
- weš nsiti l-magana f ḍ-ḍar? (Did you forget the watch at home?)
- Greg 3ṭa l-flus l Amy. (Greg gave the money to Amy.)
- d-drari safru m3a ṣнabhum. (The children travelled with their friends.)
- Sara ma-kat-akul-š l-lнm. (Sara does not eat meat.)
- sllm 3la mwalin ḍ-ḍar. (Greet the owners of the house.)
- Jerry kay-xaf mn Tom. (Jerry is afraid of Tom.)
After replacing the nouns with pronouns, make all the verb forms negative.
